2024 really has been the year of the Dream Dress ❤️‍🔥 I worked SO hard in 2023 designing the perfect everyday dress, and being able to bring it to you this year and have so many of you respond to it so positively has been just the most amazing reward for all my hard work! I’m so glad you love it as much as I do and rest assured new dreamy fabrics will be coming in 2025!! The current fabrics are almost sold out so if you want to get your hands on one of those make sure you do so before they go as they won’t restock! My goal when designing this dress was to make some My goal when designing this dress was to make something I could wear every week all year without getting bored of it… mission accomplished! Being more sustainable in your fashion choices isn’t about going out and buying a whole load of new clothes with questionable sustainability credentials, it’s about shopping in a considered way and only adding pieces to your wardrobe that you know you’ll get the wear out of. That’s what I aimed for with this dress, and so many of the people who bought it this year have told me it’s become a wardrobe staple for them so I feel like I achieved it! I had some really amazing times but also my shop being shoplifted and my legal battle were upsetting and stressful, and this has been a really weird year for retail generally so I haven’t really known whether I was coming or going half the time. But when I look back on this year I’m SO proud of how far I’ve come and everything I’ve achieved ❤️‍🔥 I’ve set some big goals for 2025 too, and there will be big changes to help me achieve them coming soon… all will be revealed in January! #smallbusinessowner #slowfashionbrand

Gang I looked at the spreadsheet and crunched the numbers and it’s been a WILD year for The Daydreamer London so I had to make a post about it. I’ve had… 💘 my 3 best months ever 💔 my worst month since 2021 💘 so much love for the dream dress 💔 my first ever returns 💘 loads of customers on my website And just in general a really intense year! This doesn’t even include the rollercoaster ride that is my bridal line because that is now its own thing! Does any of this surprise you? I was surprised to see that size 2XL has increased so much in sales and is now nearly as big as size S which last year sold much more. Clearly I need to keep making more 2XL items! I’m also surprised I sold more dresses than scrunchies overall - I thought I’d have sold more scrunchies as they’re so much cheaper and much more of an impulse purchase. But I guess you can get a scrunchie anywhere but you can only get a dream dress from me! I’ve written and deleted about 100 posts in the I’ve written and deleted about 100 posts in the last couple of years about what it feels like to be a small business owner in the raging dumpster fire that is the world right now. The pressure to show up consistently and try and sell dresses when the world is like this is… tbh a total head fuck. People respond to positivity but I have real waves of not feeling positive about the world, and of not even knowing how to acknowledge the world and then just… pivot back to selling? But I also can’t stop, because this is actually my only job and the only way I make money in this world to do things like pay my bills and buy food is to sell dresses. And sometimes I feel overwhelmed by that and then I remember that Amazon doesn’t stop. Shein doesn’t stop. Temu doesn’t stop. And to me it comes down to this: do I think the world is a 0.000000001% better place with my business in it? And the answer to that is yes. I can be the ethical, sustainable, beautiful brand that I never had access to before I started it because there wasn’t anyone out there catering to plus sizes. I’m not clever enough to be a scientist, confident enough to be a politician, brave enough to be an activist, or anything important like that. I don’t know how to make a big change to the world. But while I’m alive, I’ll do my best to make tiny changes to earth in the best way I know how, for as long as I can. That’s all any of us can do, and this is the best way I know how, and so here I am. ❤️‍🩹

So much happened in October… a pop up, a wedding show, market prep, lots of online orders, a photoshoot, making 2 bespoke wedding dresses, and lots and lots of prep for Christmas party season!
